Well is situated at Moo 1 Tambol Nam Phi, about 40 kms. away from the province. Nam Phi iron well is a steel well and there are several such wells, as far as is clearly visible, there are 2 wells, “Phrasaeng well” and “Phrakahn well”. Phrasaeng well is the well that has better kind of steel than that of other well. In ancient time blacksmith who made swords for the king would bring Nam Phi iron Phrasaeng well for smelting and made swords, so it is called “Phrasaeng well”.For Phrakahn well it is understood to be the well where its steel was brought for smelting andmaking Phrakahn, so it is called “Phrakahn well”. Nam Phi steel is high quality steel, which will give good steel after having been smelted for making weapons and various utensils. The steel will have sharp glittering green colour, which looks like a kind of wing of beetle with toughness and softness. The famous sword of Phraya Pichai Daphak which is called “Nanthakhavuth sword” is forged from Nam Phi steel andit is believed that Nam Phi steel can chase away charm.
